About Domain Mount

Domain Mount is a free, client-side domain lookup tool. Everything runs in your browser — there's no account, no tracking dashboard, and no server storing your search history.

What Domain Mount does

Enter any domain name and Domain Mount pulls together three kinds of information in one report:

Why we built it

Most "domain checker" tools online either paywall basic WHOIS data, plaster the page with intrusive ads, or quietly log every domain you search. We wanted something quick and transparent: type a domain, get a report, and see exactly which parts are real registry data versus which parts are an estimate.

How estimates are calculated

Traffic, ranking, and site-value figures are derived from a deterministic hash of the domain name combined with its real registration age (when available) and its top-level domain. The same domain will always produce the same estimate — nothing is randomized between visits — but the numbers are illustrative, not measured. We say this plainly throughout the report rather than burying it in fine print.

Data sources

Domain Mount reads from public, freely available services: RDAP bootstrap registries (rdap.org / IANA), Google's public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver, and ipwho.is for IP geolocation. Homepage content analysis, reverse-IP, and HTTP header lookups depend on a public CORS proxy and a free reverse-IP service, both of which are rate-limited — if a panel shows "Unavailable," it's usually that shared quota, not a bug.
